Seize & Structure - Mr. Dead - Metabolics Volume II: Dawn Of The Dead (CD, Album)

01.02.2022

The sun gets rolling in there In the fault lines we all get along In the doldrums of our terror-driven manga And why work in those factories? Why toil on that trail? When the reality goes down with a salty bite And the lights go out again As we fold our lights up in the terrain Getting it all into a mold We know about the running of the bulls We know about Hemingway And everything he stood for In the pursuit of truth In the folded arms of The deck chair we lay back And smother each other By the folded yarn And we kiss those ever-rankling bottle grabbers And smuggle those kingly, clacking trikes The way we all leapt down from cavernous bunk beds And strolled about the bluey night As I pushed away at lilacs Looking up for transom droppers I took my flowers to the fair I rolled and rollunked in the commons I danced in midnight streams of granite Like speckles in the gloppy air Drowning in green pools at hoppy fairs, Downed by all the graying hairs.

The first season of Monty Python was nearly Erased by the BBC, to use the tape For sports and ballet on BBC 8 seasons of Carson were erased Thomas Hardy novels have crazy twists We must learn a craft, we plunder and persist We create our own reality, we know we do We create our own reality, we know we do.

Sartre, creative, good bands, satire Facebook, your music, P. G Wodehouse, serenity Had a manic high yesterday, tonight — salad Folders are a waste of time? Bucky Fuller and the mundane The universe, the drawings of it, the jealousy of the local bards Slow going train again, can it all come down like this?

We create our own reality, we know we do We create our own reality, we know we do. Are we typing out of a journal into the eargasm Of a script for possibly the end of all innocence? What is the reason for any of this? I got lost somewhere, then celebrated the fun in the game It is all around; it is like a swirling mass And I will not settle for any of this We create our own reality, we know we do We create our own reality, we know we do.

Am I doing any kind of work? I love the look of wind blowing Through the drapes, through the curtains Okay, let us compare mythologies. Life is worth living, even if we have a crisis of faith Album) can find beauty everywhere I can find beauty everywhere. Was he not a good boy last night? Not a good boy — but do not stop writing, The subconscious is where the best stuff lives All this running, I am waiting on something… What is it? Who is pushing this through?

I want to volunteer at the soup kitchen I can find beauty everywhere I can find beauty everywhere. Will we give stuff out? Do we have too much? Why are we giving it out? Is there a reason? Can it be something we do for charity? Now that the sun shines in an unlikely way What kind of effort are you expending today?

I can find beauty everywhere I can find beauty everywhere. Was it too frantic? These themes of love and loss and mirth These themes of love and loss and mirth. Can we come back at them in some way? I know not why I put the pen to the pad But it feels good at times; we can work on it, right? Now it unfurls, being part of a community Firmament and able arches; flashback comes Coming back again, amusing the kids, ripe plums These themes of love and loss and mirth These themes of love and loss and mirth.

Life has many stories; which story can you tell? Who has ten talents? Who did the penance? A map is on table Something to know about What are we doing in this mess? Did we improve it with our clout? Was it for the righteous indignation That you were outed in the deliberation? Put it on paper and think about it Put it on paper and think about it. Thomas Hardy woke at am He wound up all his clocks He breakfasted at am To the gate he did walk Looking South to monuments To his study at 10 am Put it on paper and think about it Put it on paper and think about it.

Hardy was busy in the schedule Thinking, writing, and then writing again His poetry mythologized his life He was quick with memories, a strong imagination He worked in old clothes I love looking at his schedule Put it on paper and think about it Put it on paper and think about it.

That is the reason for the raking And the assemblage of beauty And pageantry I have been ranting of And quoting what is the sensationalism That we all do, it is what we all do I am the householder I am the householder. I loved the morning at home The coffee and the Art Tatum Working at the desk in the comfort Of an old chair and in jeans That is the manic high again Too many things going on, but this is good I am the householder I am the householder.

I-Tell us about your influences. D- First album influences? Scott Fitzgerald, Dylan. Album 2 influences? Lyrical: Van Morrison. Album 3 influences? Scott Fitzgerald. Album 4? A lot of lyrical influence from the Hold Steady — Craig Finn — more from reading the lyrics than listening to the music.

Also rap lyrics influenced me for album 4. Album 4 was influenced by Maroon 5. I-Tell us about your experiences, by year. D to a garage band.

I: Tell us your plan. D-Now, I like to run. I like to tour. Plan: New York — Aug 1st the running tour it is based on 10 miles a day. But 10 miles is my standard. So, I plan to do a running tour and run to places. Here are the dates:.

I-So you will run this town by foot? D-Yeah, baby. I-How long to run somewhere is it? D-Just as long as I see fit, right? I am also considering a biking tour. Seattle to San Diego, for instance. At end of the interview, Dave realizes his prized water bottle has been stolen. Dave draws a picture in a notebook.

He is thinking about drummers and musicians he has played with. Bass players. Piano players. The co-worker and friend relationship. Could he have closer relationships and friendships? Just then, he realizes: maybe it was old Farley Farnsworth, the evil bass player, who stole his water bottle.

He puts that aside. He must prepare for his marathon. Now, a new plan: running and rocking, coming together. I love playing music. How do we resolve this? I loved being a wastrel vagabond backpack traveler through Europe following college for like 2 months. How do I do it now? I read about a runner who ran all day long. Yet I have always run. In high school, playing football and baseball, we ran a lot. As a kid 4th grade? Hip hop dancing was there from childhood.

In my sophomore year, I got very into running. I was the pinch runner on the baseball team, so I guess I thought I should practice. I would run with baseball batting gloves on. After that, any time I felt out of shape, I would run. It was also a great hangover cure when I discovered alcohol, although I have never suffered much from hangovers.

It was also a great way to see a new town when I was touring with the band. At age 17 and 18, I ran all the time. I got college credit for a running class, for a PE credit. I ran 4 miles a day, 6 days a week, for about 6 months. That got me into shape. Since then, it has been a go-to, off and on. I did two mini-triathlons, and one half-marathon. I did a marathon, too. My parents also encouraged biking.

So, I plan to do a running tour and then maybe a biking tour. He had stolen the water bottle, since he had always cherished it, and Farley was diagnosed with a terminal illness, and he would be passing soon.

When Dave came to his apartment and confronted him, Farley admitted his guilt and explained his situation. Then he began to read. To my friends from growing up: I remember the sports, the class room time, the competition, the ups and downs, the good times, mostly, and all the growth experience.

Seeing my son in the classroom, I see how innocent we all were, fighting and clowning and just having the human experience. To my friends from adulthood: We worked together and partied together. Work is what adult life is about.

I will miss you. It was a bit more of a struggle playing original music, but still, we had lots of good times. To my family growing up: You gave me the foundation. My Dad gave me healthy surroundings, clear guidelines, healthy advice, and support for who I was. He wanted me to be happy and meet my marks or exceed them. My brother: he was always reserved and supportive. Always there. Always talented. Mom: she made me and my brother feel that we were special, and gifted, and destined to do great things in the world.

Better than all the rest. While this carried a bit of stress with it, I think it pushed us to find ways to excel. To my family: Sarah — you are my best friend, 1 fan, and working confidant. Brandon — we are pals.

Should I have disciplined you more? I guess. But you are like my partner, as we play toys together all the time. Margaret — you are the little apple of my eye. I think of laughing, loving, and being proud of both of you. On leaving: I am not sad to go. I think of it like jumping off of a diving board. I always was fearful of that, and I am fearful of this in the same way. But it always worked out when I jumped off diving boards and we were never meant to live forever.

On art: It has been the thing that has helped me make sense of family, friends, love, loss, and experience. It has been my greatest obsession. It has kept me in touch with the sublime, something that I feel that I will be more directly acquainted with now that I pass on in to the next world. Dave makes a speech. I think of art lessons with Emily Kopf.

I think of riding to Laramie Island and waiting in the cold car seat and smelling the packed sandwiches — cheese and ham, on homemade bread with raisins in it.

I think of missing ferries while going to Laramie and have to entertain ourselves while walking around the ferry terminal and discovering abandoned buildings. I was going to compile 70 reasons why dad is special. I thought that would be cumbersome. Maybe if each of seven guests gathered and each one talked about a decade then that would work. I could talk about embarrassing hair from certain decades. I see Dad and James jumping into the water on Laramie and on many different camping trips, and vacations to Ohio, Michigan, and Montana.

I see wonderful faces. I see flashes of our shared history. I even have positive memories of church and the smell of the incense. I remember eating apple cake and meatloaf. He had old records that we popped on the record player and we danced to them. Dad even caught some of these experiences on videotape.

I see flashes, images, of the past in my mind, like a slide show, but also I can remember the smells, the happiness, and the brightness and vividness of life.

Thank you for them. They are my life. Thank you, dear friends and familyfor my life. You form the world that I live in. And those flashes go on and on, they may not be in sequence but they are all in fine order. Most of them are outdoor scenes, often in the mountains, but they are all in fine order. Dave ran on a He felt free. Here is a description of how it came to be. The writer, Mary Roach, has an intellectual approach to this topic, and is also quite humorous.

I thought of a younger kid, maybe 17 top 25, enthralled with the beauty of the world, but for some reason health problems, becoming aware of his mortality, losing a limb, etc. I thought of Kiss by Prince. I thought of the songs on KUBE All of these songs were in some way about sex. I thought of a metaphor of performing for an audience, as there is a foreplay, intercourse, climax, and resolution to it that parallels sex. I searched for a way to present my perspective on this topic. There is no shortage of songs about sex, or songs about orgasm, specifically.

Not because of lack of hands on experience, but because I wanted to approach this from another angle. I came from the heart. I am, in this context, an earnest singer-songwriter.

That is what decided to be here. But I wrote this song while reading the chapter about attaching monkey balls to a man who had lost his lust for women.

I thought it was ridiculous, to try to hold on to that thing that had been lost, but then I imagined being in that position. Sometimes the world is full of temptation, of allure, of things that pull you forward into it, that beckon you. But at the same time, the world is full of danger. So, here it is. Songs can be like little novels or even little book reports.

But this song is just my impression of a feeling. It is me sitting down at the piano and seeing what comes while keeping the ideas of the book in my mind. Here it is. That was because the school was full of kids who placed more emphasis on their social life than on their academic pursuits.

The school is one of the most elite schools in the city, in a private school system that spawned the likes of Bill Gates. The books are about kids pursing the fast track to the American dream of money and recognition, while trying to balance the school work that is needed to have a future, and aspiring to overcome the oppression of high school and authority figures.

It also shows the consequences of choosing the fast track. Each book centers on a certain character. Mason is the high school baseball star pitcher. But he loves the freedom of partying with his friends. He also loves music. Mason is living his life — going to school and meeting friends in Seattle. He finishes a baseball game for his high school team.

He is the star pitcher. A flyer hits blows up to them in the win. Talent competition at Westlake Mall! At home, Mason thinks he should devote time to school. He thinks it could be his salvation, but he thinks about his girlfriend and his family. Mason goes to work at a local luxury apartment complex, where he is an assistant to the building manager. When Mason is delivering packages, he sees an old man almost die by falling off of the building. Mason tries to save him — and catches him, saving the old man, while almost falling off the building himself.

He sees this as a sign. He should enter the completion! Mason quits the baseball team immediately. Mason hands out flyers. He competes in the talent competition. The show goes well. Mason wins. He is flown to LA and is suddenly in a whole new world. Mason meets Amanda, who is also a contestant on the show. She embodies all that Mason desires: artistry, intelligence, and the girl-next-door quality.

He feels he is falling in love. An offer to party after the show is made to Mason, which throws off his game. He stays out late, damaging his chances at winning the competition. Mason calls his Dad. The two make up.

The show competition is on. It is the attainment of the goal, the fulfillment of the quest, but it is still uncertain if he will win the whole show. On break from filming the show, Mason loves the attention so much in LA that he does not want to return to high school. He does not want to be back in the drudgery of homework and rules and he finds it hard to relate to friends after his experience. There is either too much positive attention, or strain caused by people who see him as a threat.

Mason prepares to return home after the final show but we are not told if he wins. He realizes he is contractually bound to tour, though he is not getting paid much at all. At this juncture, his social media starts to explode, but not his pocketbook. His parents want him in school. He knows Mason have been weakened and beat up by the experience, and he inspires them to keep going.

Mason returns from LA to Seattle. He feels somewhat wiser, but how does he integrate this into his life. He struggles to find a way.

He decides to commit to rehearsal and putting together a bigger and better band. Mason is now comfortable now with both worlds — the glamourous LA lifestyle and the laid back Seattle lifestyle. Mason eventually settles in to a certain level of peace and freedom. He can rock shows and be in the present, not worried about the future or the past. He is at home on the high school campus, and he returns wiser.

He then prepares to meet with his friends to compare results. The girl that Doug is attracted to is a freshman. Doug is single. Doug is on the baseball team. Doug bonds with his baseball coach.

His coach, an ex-military guy, who is from Montana, teaches him the parallels between gambling and sports. It is difficult — hairstyles are different, etc. Doug learns that coming up is an online gambling event. Does Doug want something like this? Doug looks at a picture of when they were friends. Doug is sad somewhere, too. Doug respects him. After coming home from work, Doug parties with his friends.

Doug sees this as a sign. Doug finds an online gambling site and applies to be in. His application gets accepted. Doug takes acting lessons on Lake City Way. They fly to the LA to meet some of the gambling contacts. The sharks are swirling. Doug is nervous again.

Doug does boot camp in the hills of LA. Doug benches Just as things start to gel, Doug falls for Sara, who wants him to come with her for the summer. Mason sees this temptation as dangerous. He wants Mason to play baseball again and join the local league and maybe have a shot at making the team in the spring. Mason disagrees. He and his father realize they are alike, both driven, but with different talents. Doug competes on the gambling broads and Doug wins.

A Blake Shelton type invites him to his ranch to party. He likes hanging with Blake and being pseudo-celebs. Amanda assists with the escape. Blake Shelton helps them, as the big guru with a heart of gold. Mason and Doug tell them they will share their scheme with them.

Since Doug did well in gambling, he is in a weird spot. He knows that his situation in the halls is transitory. Rick is on the football team and is a star athlete. Rick is wanted by woman and idolized by men. He got injured, too, so chasing girls and partying with his friends won out.

He wants to solidify his future. Rock has sworn off drugs and booze, but can he last through to end, or will he fall off? Rick is down in the dumps. Rick is tired of hard work.

The apartment is attached to her house. Rick thinks this is ground zero for a stock trading operation. Rick works in a soup kitchen. He feels guilty about his partying ways. In the soup kitchen, Rick sees people on the breadline that he recognizes from his hometown, a once wealthy man now getting free food through charity. Rick reviews his contract with the lawyer. Rick creates an office to pursue his stock trading with a vengeance.

Rick goes to Thunderdome, which is a place to compete for stock trading. Rick has a party in basement. The two go car racing and jumping hills in a local neighborhood.

Rick almost crashes his car. He meets a girl at a gas station. Rick gets a fake ID. Rick meets Marie. Sunlight hits her right. They slow dance listening to slow jams by their car by the beach. Rick meets with an ex-girlfriend. He then learns that she is pregnant, by another guy. He feels fortunate. Rick apologizes. Rick studies Karate and Multilevel Marketing. Rick feels good. He smokes a cigarette and feels good while walking.

Brian is a bad boy. His sister is a goody-too-shoes. But Brian is bad news and likes to smoke weed and run around causing trouble. He notices that his sister, Tiffany, has a boyfriend who is causing trouble and possibly being unfaithful. Brian is a bit of a bully. Brian is a student at Prep. He gets a call to go to college a year early. He goes. After sensing trouble with his sister and his boyfriend, he parties late into the night with Rick and he decides to start a lifestyle magazine.

Brian will do college while still in high school. He meets different people and travels to places around the city, discussing his magazine ideas. Brian pitches the ideas for his magazine to big wigs.

They bite and go for it while Brian and the big wigs watch a fighting competition. Brian and his writers grapple with the concepts of test scores, college applications, girls, and whether to live in the city or the suburbs. They think this will be the kind of thing will be in their magazine. At the end of this, they hear that a friend was killed at the shipyard. A friend of a girl he knew calls him and tempts him to abandon his plan to launch the magazine. Brian is torn. I was right. Rick rests by the Fremont Canal.

Maybe Versailles and Venice, now that he is working on the lifestyle magazine. Rick does not want to go to Seattle. But he has to, and joins friends when they go to the hospital, to see that their friend has died. Rick combs the paper for ideas. Rick starts up his magazine and starts raking in the dough through a subscription service.

The editor he meets becomes his mentor. Rick comes home from college up north to live in Seattle. He keeps pushing his magazine to be a success. Rick is the master of the publishing world. He makes a plan to meet with the other guys to see how they fared. He also took care of his ailing mother. They lived by the water and had a nice lifestyle. But when Carl enters the pact with his friends, he decides his best option is to make a computer program. Can become a star in computers or will his partying ways get the better of him?

Also, there are academics that need tending to? And will his mom be okay? Will he be able to balance academics with business pursuits? I think of riding to Laramie Island and waiting in the cold car seat and smelling the packed sandwiches — cheese and ham, on homemade bread with raisins in it. I think of missing ferries while going to Laramie and have to entertain ourselves while walking around the ferry terminal and discovering abandoned buildings.

After having trouble academically, he now joins the dance troupe, as it is his only chance at being a success. He then gets cut from the team, as he is not good enough. So he turns to a life of crime, selling crystal meth. Will he go back to the straight and narrow, or will he fall to a life of crime? Austin is invited to New York with his friend. They party hard. They plan to compare the results on Christmas. He is deemed the winner of the challenge. As he leaves the party, he is killed in the parking lot by associates of the drug supplier he stole from. The five other friends all come and huddle around him as he passes away on the concrete. Sometimes it seemed like a mistake. His druggie friends would crawl into their pod-like beds, pods the size of a salad crouton as Austin would say in their communal home, while Austin would busy himself with making arrangements to rent a car to drive.

Nothing fancy, just the cheapest, quickest car he could rent. He often turned a five hour drive into a four hour drive. But this time it was different. He had not said anything and yet his bunk was empty.

Austin was gone. Next to a busy street, a tall and slender Austin sat drinking a wide mouth Coca-Cola at the table in the bar in Seattle.
